On 1 February, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will visit Ukraine. The head of the British government will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and announce the allocation of a package of financial assistance worth around £90m.
This is reported by the press service of the Prime Minister of the UK.
"The prime minister will discuss with Ukrainian President Zelensky the ongoing hostile activities of Russia," the statement said.
It is noted that during his visit to Ukraine, Johnson will announce £88 million in aid "to support Ukraine's stable governance and energy independence."
Boris Johnson's press service said that during an important week for diplomacy, the prime minister will intensify diplomatic efforts and hopes to hold talks with President Putin and other leaders as well.
It was previously reported that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin after visiting Ukraine. He will reiterate the need for Russia to back down and engage in diplomatic relations.
As a reminder, as a tool to deter Russia from a new invasion of Ukraine, Britain is developing a bill to impose sanctions against organizations and individuals from the Russian Federation. The possibility of confiscating the property of Russian oligarchs in London is not ruled out either.
