Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov answered whether Ukraine plans to mobilize the population in the near future. According to him, there is no such need at the moment. This is reported by LB.ua.
"The need for mobilization, in terms of the threat, now there is no. If we announce a training mobilization, it will cause panic in the streets. Everyone will think that we knew and hid that the enemy will attack tomorrow," the minister said.
However, according to him, in the meantime, work will be carried out on the formation of the Territorial Defense Forces.
"They will be trained, there will be normal field exercises. And the first training we will start with the chairmen of the regional state administrations, regional state administrations, plus KSCA, of course. We have four sectors: north, south, east and west. The commands of the Territorial Defense Forces are also divided in the same way. We will start with the north, we will gather all the regions plus Kiev, we will teach them for two or three days at the firing range how to interact, how to do what. Then there will be the east, south and west," summarized the head of the Defense Ministry.
