The meeting of the political advisors of the Normandy format ended in Paris with an agreement to return to diplomatic negotiations. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, told the press that it was especially important that the meeting took place amid a harsh media escalation of the "war and peace" theme.

"The first and most important of the preliminary results is the ceasefire, which should really function," Mikhail Podolyak said, according to Ukrinform.

The adviser also noted that the next meeting of the Normandy format will take place in two weeks.

"As of today, we can state that the Normandy format has been activated and can give a result," said the adviser to the head of the OP.

The Russian side confirmed that it had agreed to discuss the proposals that were put forward during the meeting of political advisers. Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, said.

"We made an inventory of those discrepancies, different interpretations of the Minsk agreements, it is no secret that they exist, and [agreed] to hold additional domestic consultations and Ukraine and other representatives of the Normandy format in order to meet in two weeks in Berlin and try to find solutions to all those problems, which, unfortunately, for a very long time - for seven years - are not resolved," TASS quoted Kozak as saying.
