Russia conducts tank exercises at the Angarskiy training ground in Simferopol Region on the Crimean peninsula. T-72B3 tank units of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces reportedly began firing exercises today.
"The firing exercises are conducted in accordance with the combat training plan of the tank units of the coastal defense compound. The tank crews will carry out firing exercises both from a direct line of fire and moving through rugged terrain in the course of a simulated encounter," the press service of the Russian Black Sea Fleet said in a statement.
This is the second exercise in Crimea conducted by Russia since the beginning of the year.
According to Ukranews, exercises using naval aviation and anti-aircraft defense forces of the Black Sea Fleet were held on January 9.
Also on December 21, 2021, the exercise in Crimea was part of a large exercise of the Southern Military District, which involved 1,500 tankers on T-72B3 and T-90A vehicles.
We would like to add that the Ukrainian side held its own exercises on 21 January 2022 in the Kherson region, practicing the protection of the sea coast and dangerous land areas during counteroffensive operations.
