U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet in Geneva on January 21, the State Department said.
"I'm going to Kiev and Berlin to meet with our partners and allies and then meet with my Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Geneva. This is a diplomatic attempt to reduce tensions over Russia's unprovoked military build-up near Ukraine's borders," Blinken wrote on Twitter.

As a reminder, the State Department announced Tuesday that Blinken will travel to Kiev and Berlin from January 18 to 20. On January 19, he is scheduled to have talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitriy Kuleba on January 19, and on January 20, Blinken will travel to Berlin, where he is scheduled to meet with German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock.
