The meeting of the Ambassador of Ukraine in Georgia Igor Dolgov with the First Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Georgia Kakha Sikharulidze took place.
During the meeting the questions of the development of the bilateral Ukrainian-Georgian relations in the sphere of culture were discussed.
Special attention was paid to holding joint cultural and humanitarian events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Georgia in 2022, the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia reported on Facebook.
The Georgian side reaffirmed its readiness to join actively in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and offered to hold a separate meeting with representatives of the Embassy next week to work out specific events and the program of the celebrations.
The Ukrainian side raised the issue of the Georgian government providing the appropriate funding for the completion of the construction of the new building of the Lesya Ukrainka Museum-Library in the village of Surami in 2022. Kakha Sikharulidze promised to promote this issue.
He noted that in the near future the Agency for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage of Georgia will be allocated the necessary funds in order to announce a new tender to complete the construction of the Lesya Ukrainka Museum-Library.
