In four days, almost 20 million cubic meters of gas were re-exported from Ukraine to the EU

Re-export of gas from Ukraine to Europe in four days after the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on state regulation of gas prices for bakeries, butter factories and other food industry enterprises reached 18.6 million cubic meters.

This is evidenced by the data of the GTS Operator.

This is the gas which European companies stored in Ukrainian underground gas storages. On the day of the decision on state regulation of prices - December 30 - 7.8 million cubic meters of gas was pumped out of the country, and on December 31 - 6.5 million cubic meters. On 1 and 2 January, re-export was 1.3 and 3m cu.m. respectively.

The volume of 18.6 million cubic meters of gas taken out of Ukraine is approximately equal to the monthly consumption of enterprises of the food industry, for which the government has set a preferential price.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers identified certain food industry companies to which it obliged to sell gas at a preferential price. Associations of gas extraction companies said that this decision of the government is corrupt and contradicts the IMF memorandum and will lead to a decline in gas production in Ukraine.
