Foreign nationals may be deported from Russia for illegal labor activity from January 1, while employers may be fined up to 800 thousand rubles (296 thousand UAH) per person for employing such workers.

"As of January 1, in addition to fines (up to five thousand rubles), foreigners may be subject to measures related to deportation from Russia and the ban on re-entry for performing illegal labor activities. Employers, hiring foreign nationals illegally may be subject to fines (up to Br800 thousand) for each such employee," said the Interior Ministry.

The Interior Ministry notes that December 31, Russia's president introduced temporary measures, allowing foreigners to regulate their legal status in order to legally perform their work without leaving the country.
