Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the West wants to make a "small war" in Ukraine and then blame Russia, Novoe Vremya reported.
"I don't rule out that there is simply a desire to feed militaristic sentiments, to make a small war, then accuse us, introduce another sanctions to suppress our competitive abilities," he said in an interview with Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov.
According to the Russian foreign minister, the West is "pumping" Ukraine with weapons.
"They are pumping weapons. They boast that they have supplied ammunition and strike systems worth $2.5 billion," he said.
Lavrov also commented on U.S. and EU concerns about Russian troop build-ups near Ukraine's borders.
"It is boorish to speak from the positions held by the West and NATO, they are encouraged by the Baltics and the Poles, and the Ukrainians, of course. We are on our own territory," he summarized.
Meanwhile, as a reminder, Russia declared its readiness to use armed forces abroad to "protect its citizens" in case of an attack on them. This was stated by Konstantin Kosachev, vice-speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation
