According to a report of the British Center for Economic and Business Research (CEBR), in 2022, the size of the world economy for the first time will exceed 100 trillion U.S. dollars.
This is reported by Reuters.
According to CEBR, China could surpass the U.S. and become the world's first economy in 2030. This is two years longer than previously predicted.
It notes that India could overtake France in 2022 and then the United Kingdom in 2023 to regain its place as the world's sixth largest economy.
It is stressed that Germany is on track to surpass Japan in terms of economic volume in 2033.
Russia could be in the top 10 economies by 2036, and Indonesia plans to rank ninth in 2034.
"The important question in the 2020s is how the world's economies handle inflation, which has now reached 6.8 percent in the U.S.," Douglas McWilliams, CEBR deputy head, stressed.
Recall that on December 15, the Federal Reserve System (FRS) lowered the forecast of gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the United States, but raised it relative to the dynamics of inflation in the country in 2021.
Note that inflation in the U.S. reached 6.8 percent in November, which was the highest rate since the 1980s.
Earlier it was reported that analysts of the US bank holding J.P. Morgan worsened their forecast of real GDP growth in Ukraine in 2021 from 4.5% to 2.3%. At the same time, they kept the growth forecast for 2022 at 5 percent.
