Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to discuss with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky only bilateral relations. However, they will not communicate as a party to the conflict in Donbas.
Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing Interfax.
"You know that Zelensky wants to talk to Putin as a party to the conflict. The issue of settlement is not a question for Putin. Putin says: if you want to communicate, let's talk about bilateral relations," he said.
As a reminder, the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, previously said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin could hold a conversation only when there was certainty that there would be a subject for negotiations. Zelenskyy never calls where he is not sure that he is ready to be answered.
