The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has withdrawn the summons of Roman Tsymbaliuk, his lawyer Nikolai Polozov said on Facebook.
According to him, as of today, the assistant prosecutor of the Central Administrative District of Moscow was appointed to summon the journalist to provide explanations.
"Roman had to appear at 10:00 a.m. in office #43 of the prosecutor's office of the Central Administrative District of Moscow... But the assistant prosecutor did not show up for the appointed event. Office #43 on the fourth floor of the prosecutor's office was closed. None of the three assistant prosecutors were present," said the lawyer.
Polozov said the office next door reported that the call had actually been withdrawn.
"Whether it's good or not, it's premature to say so far. Obviously, it's 'complete uncertainty' for now ... In any case, the ball is now on the side of the RF state authorities, let's see what their actions will be," the lawyer said.
The lawyer also did not rule out that the prosecutor's office has decided "not to burden itself with unnecessary work before the New Year holidays" and "activity will continue into next year.
