Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again stresses that Ukraine is constantly initiating steps to advance in the process of stopping the war and peaceful settlement in Donbas and is ready for negotiations in any formats with the participation of the Russian Federation. The Head of State said this during the communication with representatives of the media in the framework of the conference of Ukrainian ambassadors "Diplomacy 30. The strategy of a strong state" in Huta, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The president said that these days are negotiations within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group, reports the Official Internet Office of the President of Ukraine.
"I do not know about Russia, but we definitely expect that our three initiatives will be taken into account - understandable issues, which I think everyone is ready for: regarding the ceasefire (there are some details on the verification of the ceasefire)... About the opening of the checkpoint - this is the second issue. I do not see what the problem is there, you only need the desire of one side. And the exchange - you also need a desire," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the head of state, if the other side has the appropriate desire, it is quite possible to reach agreements on the implementation of these items before the New Year and Christmas holidays.
"We are constantly preparing and initiating different documents, different steps in order not to be reproached that we do not want something. We don't just say. We say that we are ready to implement," said the President.
Volodymyr Zelensky also once again emphasized that he is ready for direct talks with the President of the Russian Federation in any format. According to him, Ukraine has even proposed ten steps that can be carried out with the involvement of the member states of the Normandy format and the United States.
"We passed these steps both to President Biden, and the Russian side, and France, and Germany," the head of state said.
"We are also ready for direct dialogue, we do not care what format. We need to be ready," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
According to the President, there is work on possible negotiations in different formats.
"There is the Normandy format. There is communication between the President of the United States of America and the President of Russia, there are conversations between the security advisers of these states. And we have different conversations going on. There is a multi-vector conversation going on," the head of state noted.
