Ukraine awaits decision on its future in NATO at Madrid summit

Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Ukraine may receive a signal about its membership in the Alliance at the NATO summit on June 29-30.

The president said this in an interaction with journalists during a general meeting of ambassadors at the state residence "Synegora," according to the Official Internet Representative Office of the President of Ukraine.

The President said that his statement about expecting a decision of NATO as early as next year is quite serious. "We are talking about the summit in Madrid, which will take place in the summer of 2022," he explained.

The President also believes that the Alliance must invite Ukraine to participate in this summit.

"It is important for us that Ukraine be present there in one capacity or another, and that we have a concrete perspective. I emphasize, concrete. With dates or a timeframe during which they want to see us in the Alliance," he stressed.

As you know, Zelenskyy said earlier that we will not wait 30-50 years for NATO and EU membership.
