The Foreign Ministry reacted to the Russian court verdict that acknowledged the presence of Russian troops in Donbas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the verdict of the Kirov district court of Rostov-on-Don, which the day before recognized the presence of Russian troops in the occupied Donbas. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said in a commentary to UNN that this recognition is another convincing leveling of Moscow's key argument about the supposedly "internal Ukrainian" nature of the conflict in Donbas.

"The recognition in the Russian court ruling of the presence of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine is another convincing leveling of Moscow's key argument about the supposedly 'intra-Ukrainian' nature of the conflict in Donbas. This time the Russian Federation itself has created a legal precedent that has clearly established its status as a party to the international armed conflict," Nikolenko noted.

He added that this decision will strengthen Ukraine's position in lawsuits against Russia in international courts. Nevertheless, it will become more and more difficult for Russian lawyers to call white black and black white. The Rostov judge's verdict brought the Russian authorities closer to international legal responsibility.

"Not surprisingly, the Russian side began to remove the said judgment from public access. But it will not be possible to hide Russia's crimes against Ukraine," he added.

Today it became known that the Kirovsky district court of Rostov-on-Don in November handed down a verdict in the case of corruption in the supply of food, which indirectly confirms the presence of the Russian military in the Donbas.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on the information about the court verdict, which refers to the presence of the Russian military on the territory of Ukraine. According to him, the document contains erroneous information, because allegedly "Russian troops were not and are not in Donbas".
