Japarova briefed G7 Ambassadors and EU Mission leadership on the development of the Crimean Platform

First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Japarova has informed the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the leadership of the EU Mission to Ukraine about the development of the expert network of the Crimean platform. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

 

Dzhaparova and permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korinevich held a meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the leadership of the EU Mission to Ukraine.

 

"The meeting allowed to synchronize the clock on the development of the International Crimean Platform and to inform partners about the measures of Ukraine at the national level, aimed at supporting relations with the population of the temporarily occupied territory, as well as the protection of the rights of victims of the Russian aggression," the message reads.

 

Dzhaparova thanked partners for supporting the activities of the Crimean platform and the preparation of events within this format.

 

She presented to the participants of the meeting Ukraine's proposals to specific measures within the framework of the priority areas of the Crimean platform: the policy of non-recognition, sanctions, security, human rights and international humanitarian law, economic and environmental consequences of the occupation. She also informed the foreign diplomats about the development of the expert network of the Crimean platform and the measures of the MFA, aimed at establishing coordination between its governmental and expert dimensions.

 

She specifically stressed the importance of donor support to the activities of the Expert Network.

 

Korinevich reported on the priorities of the Presidential Delegation as a body that ensures the coordination of tasks for the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea at the national level. He informed about legislative initiatives, measures to ensure the rights and needs of the population of Crimea, in particular in the educational, medical and cultural spheres, protection of the religious community of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Crimea.

 

Dzhaparova and Korinevich paid special attention to steps aimed at maintaining and preserving Crimean Tatar identity.

 

Foreign diplomats expressed support for the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including in the context of Russia's military build-up around Ukraine.

 

The partners expressed support for the activities of the Crimean Platform in the priority areas, in particular the non-recognition policy, and noted that they would continue to pay high attention to cases of human rights violations in temporarily occupied Crimea.

 

Also during the meeting, participants also exchanged views on the expansion of the Crimean Platform.
