A terrible road accident involving a truck and a minibus near Chernihiv killed, according to preliminary data, 13 people, while six more were injured, reports the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to the State Emergencies Service, the accident occurred on December 7, about 7:55, near the village of Brusilov of Chernihiv district.

"On the road H-27 Chernigov-Gremyach there was a collision of a truck with a minibus route "Chernigov-Sosnitsa", - indicated in the department.

According to the regional road service, a DAF truck and a Mercedes Benz minibus, which was moving in the direction of Chernihiv, collided. Vehicles blocked the roadway.

At the time of the accident, as stated, the road surface was wet.

To eliminate the consequences of the accident 30 people and 13 units of equipment were involved from the State Emergency Service. 

According to the State Automobile Inspection in the region, investigative and operational groups, forensic laboratory, response groups of the patrol police, rescuers and medics are working at the scene of the accident.

The causes and circumstances of the accident are being established. The police are carrying out the necessary investigative measures.

While the police and emergency services are working, the road section is blocked in both directions. The police organized a detour of the scene by the section of the highway Gorodnya-Snovsk-Berezno and in the opposite direction.

"Make a detour of the scene of the accident along the route: along the road H-28 Chernigov - Gorodnya - Senkovka to Gorodnya while the accident is being processed. In Gorodna turn towards Snovsk and drive on road R-83 to Bereznah. In the municipality Berezna turn to the road H-27 Chernigov - Mena - Sosnitsa - Gremyach and move towards Mena. Similarly in the opposite direction", - added in the SAD in the region.

Traffic will be restored after the completion of the complex of investigative and operational measures.
