Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that it is impossible to stop the war without direct dialogue with Russia. He is not afraid of direct negotiations with the Russian side.
This was said by the President of Ukraine in his message to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reports RBC-Ukraine.
He said that he is not afraid to speak directly to the Russians about the war in Donbas and the occupation of Crimea.
"That is why, at the same time, I am not afraid of direct conversation with him. We are not afraid of direct dialogue... We know who supports us. We know who the countries are pretending to support. We know that our army is the best in the world and will protect us," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president noted that he is ready to have a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We will not be able to stop the war without direct negotiations with Russia. And today everyone has recognized this. All external partners have recognized this... We have to talk, knowing that we have a strong army," Zelensky said.
We shall remind you that Putin said that the preparation of the meeting with Zelensky is not under way.
In October, Zelensky said that he was ready for a meeting with Putin in any format, including with the participation of other Normandy quartet leaders.
