New rules. How the Cabinet of Ministers plans to change quarantine restrictions in Ukraine

Quarantine in Ukraine has been in effect since March 2020, and during this time it has changed several times: from lockdown to the "green" zone throughout the country. At the moment, the Cabinet of Ministers is preparing new rules.

 Adaptive Quarantine

Ukraine has adaptive quarantine rules, according to which restrictions are tightened in each individual area depending on the situation with the coronavirus. So, there are four possible zones: "green", "yellow", "orange" and "red".

Transport

In Ukraine since the second half of October there are restrictions on inter-regional transportation. All passengers and drivers of buses, trains and planes must be COVID-free (have a certificate of vaccination or test).

As noted by the head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, such rules will last - the restrictions will be in force until the situation with coronavirus is fully stabilized.

At the same time, there are plans to revise the restrictions for public transport within the city - it will be allowed to let more passengers in public transport. At the moment there are restrictions on the number of seats.

 "Yellow" zone

At the moment, the condition for business in the "red" zone is the presence of two doses of vaccine (or a negative PCR test or antigen test) for staff and employees. Whereas in the "yellow" zone one dose of vaccine is sufficient for the operation of cafes, restaurants, shopping malls, cinemas and theaters. The Ministry of Health wants to change this rule and make 100% vaccination a condition for businesses in the "yellow" zone.

Compulsory vaccination

At the moment in Ukraine compulsory vaccination is introduced for teachers, employees of central executive authorities and local state administrations. Those who refuse vaccination are suspended from work without pay. However, the list of professions for mandatory vaccination will be expanded.

Already since December 9 it will be added:

 - employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations belonging to the sphere of management of the central executive authorities,

 - employees of institutions providing social services, institutions for the protection of children's rights, rehabilitation institutions.

 - employees of enterprises of strategic importance for the economy and security of the state (Ukrposhta, Ukrzaliznytsia and others).
