An Iranian military court on November 21 began hearings in the case of the shooting down of the passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines in early 2020.
The Nov. 21 hearing in Tehran was attended by ten servicemen of various ranks, as well as families of the victims and attorneys on both sides. The report did not name the suspects, but their names were read aloud in court.
The court heard statements from the defendants' attorneys and the families of the victims. The next hearing will be announced later.
The hearing was the first since UIA Flight PS752 bound for Kiev crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran on Jan. 8, 2020, killing all 176 people on board.
