In response to the halting of the Nord Stream-2 certification, the Kremlin said that "we have to be patient" here. This statement came during a briefing from the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
According to the speaker, the certification will not flow easily and smoothly.
"The certification of Nord Stream-2 is quite a complicated process, this was clear from the very beginning. The operating company fulfills all the necessary requirements of the regulator. We saw the response of the Nord Stream-2 company yesterday quite promptly. A new company will be created in order to fulfill the requirements," underlined Peskov.
He also noted that it was clear from the very beginning of the process - patience will be needed.
"As the Russian party, we are convinced that the project itself is important for Europe. It is important for us and for European consumers. It is up to the regulator to decide further, we cannot interfere," the spokesman said.
Later we reported on Germany's suspension of Nord Stream-2 certification.
