Ukraine passes the COVID peak

Ukraine passes the COVID peak

For the first time in three months, there are more hospital discharges than hospitalizations in Ukraine. This is a positive signal that the peak COVID-19 morbidity in Ukraine has passed.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, referring to a briefing by the head of the Ministry of Health Viktor Lyashko.

According to Lyashko, hospitals are hospitalized on average 7% fewer patients than discharged.

"For the first time in the last 3 months, the average daily number of discharges from "covid" hospitals prevails over the number of hospitalized," he said.

Lyashko said that the stabilization of hospitalizations is the first positive signal of the passing of the peak of morbidity and the beginning of the unloading of the medical system of Ukraine.

"However, this is not yet a complete victory over the virus. The number of cases and hospitalization rates are at fairly high levels. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to increase the rate of vaccination and observe quarantine restrictions," he said.

Recall, the Ministry of Health reported 10,802 new cases of coronavirus and 442 deaths in 24 hours.
