Next week, the German regulator should decide on the admission of the OGTSU to the certification procedure for Nord Stream-2, which bypasses Ukraine - from Russia to Germany. This was reported by the press service of the UGTSU.
"We expect an answer next week," the press service said.
On October 15 Naftohaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company expressed a desire to join the certification process for the new Nord Stream-2 AG pipeline and submitted an application to the Bundesnetzagentur, the German energy regulator.
The Polish state-owned energy company and its German subsidiary PGNiG Supply & Trading GmbH have already been admitted to the certification process.
The contradiction to European law is that, as an independent transmission system operator, Nord Stream 2 must remain part of the vertically integrated Gazprom Group. Certification must ensure compliance with European law and provide guarantees of security of gas supply.
