The SBU did not extend the entry ban for the Russian video blogger Varlamov

The Security Service of Ukraine has not extended the ban on Russian video blogger Ilya Varlamov to enter the country. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

"As of the date of the request, the competent units of the Security Service of Ukraine did not take a decision to ban the entry of the requested foreigner. In the case of certain grounds defined by law, the Security Service of Ukraine will take the necessary measures", - said in the message of the SBU.

Spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko said that Ukrainian border guards may deny Varlamov entry into Ukraine when he tries to cross the border, if there are grounds for it. Demchenko explained that the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service applies legal norms to its citizens if they violate the procedure for entry-exit to the territories not controlled by Kiev. Foreigners in such cases are not only held administratively liable, but are also prohibited from entering Ukraine.

"In case of an attempt to cross the state border and confirmation of the facts of illegal stay in the temporarily occupied territory this person will be denied entry to Ukraine and banned for a period of three years," Demchenko said.
