"Gazprom" has increased the transit of natural gas through Ukraine's gas transportation system (GTS) to 88-90 million cubic meters per day in the last few days, but it is still less than the booked 109 million cubic meters, the head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Sergey Makogon, said, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
"...November 8. Will there be an increase of gas supplies to Europe? So far we have not received any additional applications for transit. Moreover, the transit so far is less (88 million cubic meters) than what was booked and paid for by Gazprom (109 million cubic meters)," he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday evening.
Makogon also noted that as of November 5, the underground gas storages (UGS) of the Russian monopolist in Europe are filled only for a quarter whereas the level of filling of Russian subway gas storages is the highest since 2000.
According to the operational data of the UGSSU, the gas inflow through the Suja and Sokhranovka gas storage facilities on the Russian-Ukrainian border during the last 10 days ranged from 57.8 million cubic meters to 109.2 million cubic meters. In particular, on October 28 - 84.891 million cubic meters, October 29 - 109.198 million cubic meters, October 30 - 76.89 million cubic meters, October 31 - 73.41 million cubic meters, November 1 - 57.765 million cubic meters, November 2 - 62.270 million cubic meters, November 3 - 81.996 million cubic meters, November 4 - 90.161 million cubic meters, November 5 - 89.617 million cubic meters and November 6 - 89.733 million cubic meters.
On October 27 earlier, at the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin Gazprom announced its plans to start massive pumping to European UGS facilities starting from November 8 (by this time Gazprom plans to finish pumping to Russian storage facilities).
As reported, the transit of natural gas through the gas transportation system (GTS) of Ukraine in January-October 2021 amounted to 35.3 billion cubic meters, which is 21.6% less than during the same period in 2020 (45 billion cubic meters), and 56.7% less than in 10 months of 2019 (81.5 billion cubic meters).
The Ukrainian gas transport corridor has a new mandatory "reservation" for Gazprom in 2021-2024: 40 billion cubic meters (110 million cubic meters/day) after 65 billion cubic meters (178 million cubic meters/day) in 2020.
