Law enforcers conduct searches of tax officials across Ukraine. Investigative actions are taking place in the offices of the tax service and the places of residence of the persons involved. This is reported by the press service of the NABU.
It is known that the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine exposed the corruption mechanism in the State Tax Service. According to preliminary information, the scheme consisted in "covering" fraudsters who underpaid taxes and also helped fictitious enterprises.
As a consequence, in order to obtain evidence of illegal activities, the SBU and NABU conducted a series of searches throughout Ukraine, viz:
at the State Tax Service,
its regional branches,
and the places of residence of those involved in the proceedings.
It is reported that the head of the service, Yevhen Oliynykova, was also searched.
Now continuing investigative actions in criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Abuse of power or self-dealing).
All persons who may be involved in the criminal scheme are being established.
