"Gazprom" refused to book capacity for Q1-2022 through Ukraine and Poland

"Gazprom" refused to book additional transit capacity through Ukraine and Poland for the first quarter of 2022, according to the results of booking auctions on the GSA Platform and Regional Booking Platform.

This year, the company prefers to refrain from long-term bookings, preferring mostly monthly contracts.

The liberalization of the European gas market has led to the abandonment of long-term transit contracts. They have been replaced by transparent auction-based booking to exclude extra costs for booking excess capacities from the gas price. As a result, shippers are free to book only the amount of capacity they need and for the time they need it.
