Due to a new wave of coronavirus in Ukraine, the number of deaths may reach a thousand per day. This forecast was made by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). About this the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov said on the air of the talk show "The right to power". Danilov noted that such a number of dead could be recorded as early as the beginning of November.

"Unfortunately, taking into account what we have today, a thousand dead from COVID in a day in the first days of November we can have with you. Can this be stopped? Yes, we need to go and get vaccinated," said Danilov.

According to the data of Ministry of Public Health, nearly 26.9 thousand of ill people were recorded during 24 hours on October 28 which is a new anti-record since the beginning of pandemic for the second day in a row. A total of 2.87 million cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus disease have already been diagnosed in Ukraine.

More than 5.4 thousand people have been hospitalized a day, which is at the level of the previous day. This is reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

"During the day of October 28, 26,870 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine," the Ministry of Health reported.

Also in the past 24 hours:

 - hospitalized - 5,463 people;

- fatalities - 648;

- 9,784 people recovered.

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

- fallen ill - 2,878,674 people;

- recovered - 2 421 495 people;

- 66 852 deaths;

- 14,306,108 PCR tests were conducted.

During the last day, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Dnepropetrovsk (2164), Odessa (2156), Lviv (1702) regions, Kiev (1616) and Kharkiv (1497) regions.

To date, the "red" quarantine zone includes eight regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odessa, Sumy, Kherson, Rivne and Mykolaiv regions. From November 1, Kiev will be in the red zone.

Three regions remain in the "yellow" zone - the Kirovograd, Zakarpattya and Vinnitsa regions. The rest are still in the orange epidemic zone.
