The Defense Ministers of NATO countries approved a global defense plan of the Alliance at a meeting on the eve.
«This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg after a meeting of NATO defense ministers,» reports «European Pravda».
«The ministers approved a new plan for the defense of our alliance during conflicts and crises so that we have the right forces in the right place at the right time,» Stoltenberg said, adding that the plan would help protect the Alliance's 1 billion residents from any threats.
He added that the ministers also agreed on force and capability targets as part of the defense planning process.
He said the ministers also discussed NATO's response to Russia's new missile systems.
«We will not repeat Russia's destabilizing behavior and we also do not intend to deploy new missile systems in Europe. We are implementing geopolitically and militarily balanced measures to respond to these threats,» the NATO secretary general said.
