Law enforcers have detained a 25-year-old man who threw a Molotov cocktail into the house of the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva.

 

«Today around 4:00 am in the Darnitsa district of Kiev, operatives of the National Police and the SBU detained a man who threw a bottle with a flammable mixture into the yard of the house of the deputy head of Office of the President of Ukraine, responsible for the direction of European integration», - reports the communication department of the Kyiv police.

 

It is established that the attacker is a 25-year-old man without a permanent place of work and residence.

 

«He comes from the village of Kosari, Kamensky district of Cherkasy region. He said that on one of the sites of ads about work found a message about the order to set fire to the house of an unknown to him person. According to him, he received the address of the victim and instructions from the customer via messenger Telegram. He was promised to pay $4000 after the information about the attack on the official's house appeared in the media,» the report says.

 

The motives of the customer are not known.

 

Legal qualification of the event – part 2 of Article 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property by arson) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The malefactor was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of suspicion of the detainee is being solved.
