The possibility of booster (additional) vaccination in Ukraine told today Victor Lyashko, head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

«Most likely it will be. But it is unknown whether booster or re-vaccination. This is a matter for consideration. But we are not yet in the level of vaccination coverage of the adult population, let alone the introduction of booster or re-vaccination. Today we clearly follow the recommendations WHO, which says that it is necessary to first provide access to at least one dose or a full course of vaccination to a larger number of adults,» said the Minister of Health.

Note that the booster vaccine enhances the effect of previous vaccines. This increases the degree of protection of the previously vaccinated organism, which subsequently weakens the effect of the vaccine.

A month earlier, Igor Kuzin, the chief sanitary doctor, denied the possibility of a booster vaccination of the population against COVID-19 or vaccination for the third time before the vaccinated population.

For people who have received two vaccinations with BioNTech / Pfizer and Moderna, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommends vaccination for the third time in 28 days. The advice applies to people who have weakened immunity.
