Georgian Ministry of Justice proposes to the Ministry of Health to set up a special group of doctors to assess Mikheil Saakashvili's health condition information about the deterioration of his health. It is noted that this group should include physicians of various specialties.
«We ask Health Minister Kateryna Tikaradze to set up a group of doctors to periodically monitor Mikheil Saakashvili's health and, if necessary, make recommendations,» the Justice Ministry said.
The ministry also called for the cooperation of human rights ombudsman Nino Lomjari. He is being asked to monitor Saakashvili's rights «to ensure the transparency of the process.» In addition, the same request was made to members of the parliamentary majority, the chairman of the Human Rights Committee Mikhail Sardzhveladze and the chairman of the Health Committee Dmitry Khundadze.
At the same time, the Georgian ombudsman's office said earlier that Saakashvili's conditions of detention and health were closely monitored in the penitentiary. No violations were recorded.
It should be noted that October 14 will be exactly two weeks since Mikheil Saakashvili is in a Georgian pre-trial detention center, after being imprisoned, he went on a hunger strike.
