Danishevska announces resignation

Supreme Court Chief Valentina Danishevska has announced her resignation and will not nominate a new head. She announced this during the plenary session of the Supreme Court on Friday, Ukrainian News reports.

«I want to announce the next plenary session on October 22. I will propose to elect the next head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine on this day, October 22. We want to do it in advance,» Danishevska said.

She added that her term as Chief Justice expires in a couple of months.

«… We use this time so that I can transfer to the new Chief Justice all the authority and experience I have received while in this position. I will not offer my candidacy,» Danishevska added.

She also added that her judicial career is also coming to an end.

«We have to look for the next head of the Supreme Court in our ranks,» Danishevska summed up.

As previously reported, Danishevskaya is dissatisfied with the reform of the High Council of Justice. The new Supreme Court elected Danishevsk chairman in late November 2017 for a four-year term.
