Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a proposal to replace current Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The new candidate for this position is First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov. This was reported in the Russian media.
The proposals relate to the changes in the leadership of the Russian Federation's security forces that were announced yesterday, May 12. Most of the other current leaders remain in their positions.
Among them:
- Sergey Lavrov - Minister of Foreign Affairs;
- Konstantin Chuychenko - head of the Ministry of Justice;
- Vladimir Kolokoltsev - head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- Aleksandr Kurenkov - head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations;
- Alexander Bortnikov - Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB);
- Sergey Naryshkin - head of the Foreign Intelligence Service;
- Viktor Zolotov - head of the the National Guard (Rosgvardiya);
- Dmitry Kochnev - head of the Federal Security Service.
