Bulgaria approves financial aid to Ukraine: what will the funds be used for

The Bulgarian National Assembly has approved financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 60 thousand euros. This was reported by BNR.

The funds will be used to participate in the 4-year program of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The total cost of activities and events included in the program is 16.5 million euros.

The Bulgarian opposition objected to providing aid to Ukraine because "it would harm our compatriots in the western suburbs."

"Since funds for projects in Ukraine have not been collected for the simple reason that there is currently a war on the territory of the country, these 60 thousand euros have been taken from Bosilegrad and other Bulgarian communities and donated to Ukraine so that the Bulgarian state can strain for one parameter to become an OECD member," said MP Pavel Mitova from "There is such a people" party.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental economic organization of 35 member countries, founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
