Recent Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure caused far greater consequences than the attacks in the winter of 2022-2023. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko said this, The Guardian reports.

"Up to 80% of thermal generation was attacked. More than half of the hydrogeneration and a large number of substations," Galushchenko said.

He noted that these latest strikes were the "biggest attack" on Ukraine's energy infrastructure ever.

Galushchenko added that "the scale and consequences of these attacks are much greater" than previous attacks in the winter of 2022-2023, when blackout schedules were introduced across the country, and there were problems with heating and water supply.

"We can see that the Russians have modified their weapons," Galushchenko said, adding that they are using Iranian kamikaze drones and missiles that cause great damage.
