Czech Republic supplies Ukraine with 300,000 shells, - Foreign Minister Lipavsky

The Czech Republic has so far delivered 300,000 shells to Ukraine. They will provide a vital "rest for several months" on the front line. This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, The Guardian reports.

"We have direct experience of 40 years of being a satellite of Moscow, a country that was invaded by Russian tanks in 1968 to suppress the Prague Spring," he said.

The minister added that Prague cannot stand by and watch Ukraine remains without aid.

"No one wants to bring back those Soviet times, and I have to say that the population is very sensitive to this," he emphasized.

The minister added that Prague is ready to supply thousands of additional artillery shells to Ukraine, just weeks after it announced an initiative to obtain such needed supplies from outside the EU.
