Ukraine will increase the number of border troops, taking into account the current tasks of defense against Russia and in anticipation of long-term protection after the war. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address.
"We will increase the number of border troops, both in view of the current tasks of defending against Russian aggression and in anticipation of long-term protection of the borders of our state after this war," he said.
According to the law, the total number of employees of the State Border Guard Service is 60,000, including 52,000 military personnel. However, during a special period, the total number of SBGS personnel is increased by the number of personnel called up for military service to fulfill presidential decrees on mobilization.
