Former US President Donald Trump wants his country to provide Ukraine with assistance in the war with Russia on credit. This was reported by Bloomberg.
"They want to give them another $60 billion. Do it this way. Lend them money. If they do well, they will pay us back. If they fail, they don't have to pay us back. Why should you just give them the money? Make it a loan," Trump said during his campaign in South Carolina.
The former US president compared such a plan to the deals he used to make with potentially successful athletes who had no money at the beginning of their careers.
"I do this with athletes. For example, with professional golfers, who I think are very good. They have no money, but they have great talent. I say: "Here's the deal," he added.
It is worth noting that this year the US will hold presidential elections. The main candidate from the Republicans is likely to be Donald Trump, and Joe Biden from the Democrats.
