Belarus has introduced a counter-terrorism operation regime in part of the Gomel region. The region borders on Ukraine, BelTA reports.
The Belarusian media, citing the KGB department, said that a counter-terrorism operation regime was introduced in the Lelchitsa district of the Gomel region. The district is located near the border with Ukraine and borders Zhytomyr and Rivne regions.
"The population of the district is asked to remain calm and obey the demands of law enforcement officers," BelTA writes.
We should add that neither the Belarusian media nor the KGB have reported on the reasons for the introduction of the counter-terrorism operation regime.
