The National Police has decided to disband a special purpose regiment of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region. This happened after the special forces had previously refused to join the "Rage" assault brigade. Deputy Chief of the National Police Oleksandr Facevich said that all special forces will be transferred to the assault brigade.
According to him, officers who refuse to be transferred to the assault brigade will be fired and served with a summons. He noted that "the assessment is based on the situation in Dnipro."
"A decision has been made to disband the special police regiment of the Dnipro regional police. That is, the regiment will not exist. We may make other personnel decisions to create separate companies to perform specific tasks," said Facevich.
The National Police reminded that in 2023, amendments to the Law "On the National Police" were adopted, according to which special police officers can participate in the defense of the country by directly conducting hostilities.
