Currently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces need infantrymen the most. This was stated by Major General Viktor Nikoliuk, commander of the training of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with Radio Liberty.
"The most needed specialists are, of course, infantry. This is the infantry that goes forward, that storms, that gets a foothold in a trench, holds positions, and the infantry enters enemy positions, repels the enemy," he said.
According to him, the most massive training in the ground forces is that of an infantryman.
"Without belittling the role of drones, tankers, artillerymen and mortar launchers are very important. But today it is the infantry," the commander added.
