The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council claims that the New York Times journalists who wrote an article about Russia's readiness for negotiations are Kremlin agents.

"Russia's 'signal' can actually be made to prevent further military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the West, as well as to add ratings to Trump, who is ready to 'give' Putin a part of Ukrainian territory. We should not forget that Russia is playing "peace" by investing more and more in the military-industrial complex and building up its personnel army. The article, of course, does not mention this," the statement reads.

The CCD also writes that to write this text, "the Russian Federation used American journalists recruited during their work in Russia."

All three authors of this article are Americans. One of them is Anton Troyanovsky, the Moscow bureau chief of the NYT, who was born in Moscow. When he was 5 years old, his family moved to Germany and then to the United States. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize.

As a reminder, The New York Times reported, citing sources, that Russian President Vladimir Putin is sending "signals" to the West about his desire to freeze the war in Ukraine and start negotiations. According to two former high-ranking Russian officials close to the Kremlin, as well as American and international officials, Putin is proposing to freeze the fighting on the current lines.
