Ukraine's Ambassador to the US explains reasons for canceling Zelensky's speech to Congress

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky canceled his speech to American senators because they were discussing domestic issues. Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova said this on the air of the telethon.

"Nothing catastrophic actually happened. You know, the president addressed Congress and held a series of briefings. Today, a number of internal briefings were scheduled, closed briefings, with Austin (US Secretary of Defense) and other administration officials. I had an idea to attend one of several of these briefings so that I could join in. It was because they discussed not only Ukraine's issues, but also domestic issues, so we did not participate today," Oksana Markarova said.

Earlier we reported that on December 5, Volodymyr Zelensky was supposed to address the US senators via video, but his participation was canceled.
