Iran has enough uranium for three nuclear bombs - media

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran has enough uranium enriched to 60% purity, close to weapons-grade, for three nuclear bombs. This was reported by Reuters, citing sources in the IAEA.

"Iran is constantly increasing the level of uranium enrichment, but is unable to provide the International Atomic Energy Agency with the necessary information, which poses a challenge to both the agency and Western powers, which have repeatedly called on Iran to change course," the source said.

Experts noted that Iran has enough uranium enriched to 60% purity to make three nuclear bombs.

"This is more than three times the approximately 42 kg that the IAEA has determined is theoretically sufficient to make a nuclear bomb with further enrichment," Reuters writes.

The article says that IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi sent a letter to Iran asking it to reconsider the issue. In response, Iran said that it was "studying the possibility of meeting the request".

According to the former head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, Iran is capable of developing nuclear weapons in a few months, but the United States will not allow it to do so.
