The Israeli Defense Forces reported that based on intelligence information and operational necessity, IDF forces are conducting a precise and targeted operation against Hamas in a designated area in Shifa Hospital. This was announced by the Israeli Defense Forces on Telegram.
"The IDF is conducting a ground operation in Gaza to defeat Hamas and rescue our hostages. Israel is at war with Hamas, not with the civilian population in Gaza," the statement said.
The military said that the IDF forces include medical teams and specially trained Arabic-speaking operatives to avoid targeting civilians, which Hamas uses as human shields.
The report indicates that the IDF has repeatedly warned in recent weeks that Hamas's use of Shifa Hospital for military purposes violates international law and jeopardizes its status.
