Air Force spokesperson denies information that Ukrainian pilots have started training on F-16 in Romania

Ukrainian pilots do not begin training on F-16s in Romania. The center where the training is to be held is still under construction. This was stated by the Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat on the talk show "On Time".

It should be noted that a video was posted online showing pilots flying American F16 fighters. According to media reports, the video was allegedly filmed at an air base in the Romanian city of Fătesti, where training of Ukrainian pilots is to begin soon, and the pilots' work is a demonstration flight.

However, Ihnat said that Ukrainian pilots are not starting training on F-16s in Romania, and the center itself is still under construction.

"No training is starting in Romania," the Air Force spokesman said.

As for the training center, Ihnat explained that it is currently under construction.

"Regarding the center: sometimes statements by foreign partners need to be considered from a different angle. For example, the Netherlands handed over 5 aircraft. They handed over the first batch to the future center, which is under construction, and the foundation has just been poured, as far as I know. There is a runway there, but so far there is no talk of training Ukrainian pilots," the speaker explained.
