Ukraine invites South Africa to participate in the Global Peace Summit

Ukraine seeks to bring cooperation with South Africa to a new level and has invited South Africa to participate in the Global Peace Summit. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba during talks with South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor in Pretoria, the Foreign Ministry's press service reports.


"To develop the renaissance of Ukrainian-African relations, Ukraine seeks to bring cooperation with South Africa to a qualitatively new level. We offer a partnership based on mutual respect and benefit. And I am glad that the South African government shares our aspirations," Kuleba said.


The parties also discussed the situation at the frontline and the consequences of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine suggested considering opportunities for cooperation in the digitalization of public services and economic projects, as well as expanding trade between the two countries.


After the talks, a memorandum of cooperation in diplomatic education and research was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa.


The head of Ukrainian diplomacy also invited Minister Naledi Pandor to visit Ukraine at her convenience.
