The Armed Forces of Ukraine fired ATACMS missiles at the occupied Crimea for the first time on October 30. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi in an interview with The Economist.
According to him, Crimea remains the "most vulnerable place" of dictator Vladimir Putin.
"This is the core of his project to restore the empire, and its legitimacy is based on its return to Russia," Zaluzhnyi said.
Commenting on the Defense Forces' strikes on the peninsula, the general said that Russians should know that Crimea is part of Ukraine and the war is going on there.
The Chief of Staff said that on October 30, Ukraine struck Crimea for the first time with ATACMS missiles supplied by the United States.
On that day, it became known about the strike on the air defense regiment in Olenivka on Cape Tarkhankut. There were also explosions and smoke in Sevastopol.
