Militants of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked US bases located near the Al-Omar and Al-Shadadi oil fields in Syria with drones. The Pentagon has confirmed that militants tried to attack a US military base in Syria with attack drones. This was stated by Pentagon representative General Patrick Ryder at a briefing and reported by the Arabic edition Al Mayadeen.

It is noted that the attack was aimed at American military bases located near the Al-Omar and Al-Shadadi oil fields in Syria. Allegedly, "direct hits" were recorded.

The Pentagon confirmed only the shelling of the US base at Al-Tanf, which took place on the afternoon of October 23.

"I can confirm that there was an attempted drone attack on Al-Tanf in Syria. Two attack drones were shot down. There were no injuries among the US military," Ryder said.

At the same time, the Iranian-backed militants of the Islamic Movement of Iraq group claimed attacks on two more American bases in Syria, but there is no official confirmation of this information.
